The short version

• We never ask for, see or store your Instagram password.
• Your Instagram export is opened in your browser. Only usernames and follow dates from your followers and following lists are sent to us, so we can compare uploads.
• Messages, photos, comments and everything else in your export never leave your device.
• You can delete any upload or tracked account at any time, which removes it and its snapshots from our servers. "Delete my data" in the account menu removes all of them at once.

What we store

Your FollowBuster account email and a hashed password; your quiz answers; usernames and follow dates from the exports you upload; for public accounts you choose to track (Instagram or TikTok): their public profile details (name, bio, picture, counts), dated snapshots of the public list of accounts they follow, the newest accounts on their public followers list, their latest public posts (picture link, caption, tagged accounts), and public profile details of new accounts in those lists (name, bio, follower count). Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see your card number. Page visits are counted with Rybbit, a cookieless analytics service.

Accounts you track

We only read information Instagram or TikTok shows publicly, through third-party data providers. We never log in to Instagram or TikTok, never interact with the tracked account, and the account owner is not notified. Private accounts cannot be tracked. Please use FollowBuster kindly and lawfully; do not use it to harass anyone.

AI summaries

If you tap “Explain my changes”, a summary of your counts and up to 15 usernames is sent to an AI provider to write the recap. For accounts you track, the public facts of each change (usernames, counts, short bios, post captions and tagged accounts) are sent to an AI provider to write the short “What stands out” summary. Nothing from your own Instagram export is included in those, and none of it is used to train models by us.
